Tag Prints

Do you have old business cards or blank tags to get rid of? I decided to upcycle  some of my old business cards, they are the perfect size to use as greeting card toppers. I enjoy squishing paint between two cards and seeing the various unplanned patterns that emerge when the cards are pulled apart.  Some of them look like faces, some resemble landscapes. I enjoy projects that allow the viewer to see whatever they imagine. Sometimes I look back at a previous tag and notice something completely different from what I saw before. The small size of the cards make them a good base for practicing different techniques and the abstract quality of this technique makes it is a great project to do with children as there is no right or wrong result. Each one is different. For these samples I used black and white acrylic paints. Once the cards are dry they can be embellished with paper scraps, small beads, fibers, etc. Now they are ready to add to a card or to be used as a gift tag.
