Last year I used this technique to decorate small gift pouches and cards. This year the coffee sleeve leaves are back to add a festive touch to the Thanksgiving table setting. Besides punching the leaf shapes from the painted coffee sleeves, I also punched leaves from old magazine pages and some leftover decorative paper that I painted for a different project.
The napkin rings are made from toilet paper roll tubes that I cut and covered with a combination of Washi tape and the gold foil wrapper from my tea bags. I layered a fabric scrap ribbon, the punched leaf and a small bow to finish the napkin rings.
For the place cards, I layered various leaves and topped them with a small twine bow.
This can also be a fun group project to do either the day before or the morning of Thanksgiving while your family is gathered around chatting.
As we celebrate in smaller gatherings little decorative touches can add to the special day we have together.
