Handmade Easter Cards

I love flowers!  Though as I have mentioned in previous posts, I do not bring them indoors or get too close to them for very long because of my allergies. I have a daughter that seems to be a flower magnet, she finds the most beautiful blooms on her walks. It’s always fun to see the floral photos she posts. Whether in a garden or along a walkway, they add so much color to our day.

This year I decided to try a technique that is completely new to me.   To be honest it came about because I am working to use up older supplies from my art class days.

I made Easter cards using my floral rubber stamps and airbrush paints instead of stamp ink pads.  It took me a couple of tries to get the stamps to print the way that I envisioned them.  After stamping the cards I used a paint brush to add the leaves and details.  The rubber stamped sentiment completes the card, I am pleased with the end result. The paint allowed me more flexibility in the end result.

I especially like the vivid colors of the paint, it was easier to control the placement of the color than when using ink pads.

Snail mail hits again.

The airbrush paint gives the flower a ‘Printed’ appearance rather than a rubber stamp one.
