Finger painting artist date

I love messy studio time!!!  It is a time when it does not matter where the splattering paint landed. I am naturally drawn to bright colors and patterned clothing especially florals.  When these get paint on them the splatter does not stand out. The paint splatters on my clothing either become part of the fabric pattern or eventually become a new design as the splatters accumulate over time.

I like working on a smooth tabletop so I cover my work area to keep glue and paint globs off of it. During my finger painting artist date I purposely smeared paint beyond the edges of my project, I used paint splatters to add more color. The protective sheet will be cut down to use as a background for future card making projects.  The smaller pieces will be added to collage projects.

An art session that ends in bright colors and messy hands means I really lost myself in the process.

Now it is back to reality and clean up time with a much relaxed frame of mind.

Sometimes our hands are the best tools for spreading paint.

I used acrylic paints for these background papers.
