Summer Memories

I have a lot of wonderful summer memories as we leave summer behind us and head towards my favorite seasons, fall and winter.  However, the current heatwave seems to be forgetting it is time for it to move on and allow the cooler weather to make an appearance.

I am between seasonal projects and using the time to reminisce over our summer adventures.  There are many photos missing, many not taken.  We had the house tented for termites, watched movies, ate out, enjoyed family time picnics, Padre Games and much more.

The summer was busy enough to be fun without being hectic.  Well, the house tenting and all the preparations that involves was not actually fun, but necessary and without incidents.  I am thankful to have a house to be tented.

One of the first summer events was a Padres game.  So much fun.  I like watching the workers prepare the field. There is such a contrast between the green grass the wet reddish dirt.  The anticipation of the game adds to the festive feelings.

We had a couple of family picnics at the lake a fun time for food and games.

4th of July was spent at Old Poway Park enjoying the festivities and the food.

The train was kept very busy this day.

Dessert is wonderful regardless of the season.  We have a new bakery that I of course had to visit.  The selection is varied and changes.  A customer was commenting to her husband that what she was having was now her favorite and she wants it for her birthday cake.  We started talking, it was their first time eating there too.  I ended up buying what her husband had. A layered meringue with pudding and fruit.  It was delicious!

The bakery has a nice assortment of goodies. Most I have never tried before.

I enjoyed a few movie days.  On one of the days after the movie we (my grandson and his friend joined me) went to the Brigantine for lunch and of course dessert.

The waitress brought two spoons, but I only need one to finish this apple crisp.

It has been a wonderful time of making memories and enjoying times together. Now it is time for me to continue my fall and winter crafts.

What are your favorite summer memories?
