Halloween celebration

This week I am showing you a variety of Halloween celebration ideas.  I know not everyone has a Halloween celebration, my goal is to give you ideas that you can adapt to other occasions by simply changing the theme.

Halloween, Halloween décor,
As an example, the treat bags with shredded brown paper basket filler are also great party favor bags. The neutral brown shredding is suitable for multiple event themes or it can be exchanged for a different color to match your event colors.

Party supply and craft stores have multi packs of items in the party and wedding aisles that can be substituted for the Halloween fillers I use. Try plastic rings, finger puppets, erasers, mini bubble wands and such. I like to have the header on the bag so the items are contained for the attendees to take home.

Cupcake holders are available in a variety of themes and patterns. This idea is easily adaptable to a non-Halloween theme. The fillers shown here work well for bridal shower favors.

Additionally, Halloween cards are easily adaptable for a Thanksgiving theme.  You can keep the same color scheme and use pumpkin shapes that do not have carved jack-o-lantern faces.

This colorful card background is made by spraying ink through a stencil. You can layer different colors to get the deeper color. It is best to allow the ink to dry completely between spray sessions so the colors do not get ‘muddy’. This color theme works well for a Thanksgiving card.
You can substitute a plain pumpkin for the main image.
If you substitute the focal image with a cut out balloon, balloon cluster or cupcake image this will be good for a birthday card.

By removing the jack-o-lantern that is on top of my drawn pumpkins, this card theme easily goes from Halloween to Thanksgiving. The vines are spirals punched from magazine pages. The greenery below the pumpkins is also cut from a magazine. It’s good to recycle and upcycle supplies when possible.

I hope this gives you ideas for repurposing the left over seasonal and holiday items that you have in your paper stash.

Have fun creating.
