I finished another batch of cards using the easy bubble wrap painted backgrounds that I referred to in my previous post. This is the technique of ‘stamping’ the background papers with bubble wrap that has been dipped in paint. This adds a wintery appearance to the cards.
You can still see the background color of the paper showing through the painted areas. However, the original design on the paper is not seen clearly through the paint. If you prefer to have a section of the background paper showing you can mask that area and stamp the bubble wrap around the edges.

I have a few more cards ready that I will share in a future post. One of the fun things about card making is that once you get started it is easy to get absorbed in the process and lose track of time. Thus, I end up with multiple cards which is a good thing.
I have also used this easy bubble wrap painted backgrounds technique on magazine pages. The paint stiffens the magazine paper making it a little more durable.
What background surface will you try this technique on? In addition to the ones mentioned above the technique works well on wrapping paper scraps, brown paper bags, deli paper and much more.
Have fun experimenting. Drop a comment to let me know how the process worked for you.
