Bookish life

Here’s a peek at my bookish life for August. It is difficult to decide which one is my favorite.   The book journal is where I write quotes that I want to remember.  I also write a short summary of the book so I can refer back to it.

I do not plan to review the books here so as not to give away the story; however I do enjoy sharing the quotes that stood out to me.

The Book of Lost NamesJust because one was good at something did not mean that one had to spend a lifetime doing it.” “Life turns on the decisions we make, the single moments that transform everything.” This one reminded me of both my past transforming decisions and one that I will be making soon.

The Ones We Keep

The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.” I think this is a great analogy of the past and present.

Although she was technically adequate, she lacked passion.”  While this refers to the character’s ability to play the piano, I think it applies to life in general, all that we do. Doing it with passion brings it to life.

The Space Between Us

The past is always present.”  It is always a part of me, but does not need to hold me back.

The Forgotten NamesBack then they had wasted their days worrying about ridiculous little things and watching the clock anxiously.” “What really matters is what we already have but don’t care about.” A good reminder when I catch myself fretting over things that will not matter tomorrow.
Empire of Storms
I am almost finished with this series and I have enjoyed it as much as I did the previous series by Sarah J. Maas.

I admire the different ways these writers can transport the reader to a different time, country, and adventure with their words.

Have fun living the bookish life; what’s your favorite book?
