Here’s an easy technique to make mixed media cards using your painted papers. The same background paper is used in both examples. The original sheet is one of the ones I used to cover my work surface. And evidentially I completely forgot to photograph the sheet before I started to cut it apart! I was too excited to start the cards.
However, I think the samples show the design enough to give you a good idea of the process.

One of the fun aspects of using the papers protecting your work area is that the final pattern is not consistent. This provides you with a variety of choices from one sheet of paper. Sometimes it is difficult for me to decide which section of the paper to use. Additionally, the unplanned patterns are truly one of a kind, making your cards even more unique.
As a reminder, the techniques I provide are a guide that you can use with your preferred crafting medium. You can use watercolors, acrylics, crayons and markers to make your unique backgrounds. Try scribbling with crayons and then apply a watercolor wash over the scribbles; it’s a good way to get your project started.
Have fun, keep creating.
