Handmade Valentine Cards

I have been having fun making a variety of hearts.   Hearts are a truly versatile shape.  They can be used for any occasion, sending our love on cards for birthdays, anniversaries, notes of sympathy or congratulations and especially on Valentine’s Day. I like to experiment with colors beyond the traditional red heart and I also enjoy adding patterns for texture. This year I painted the hearts on watercolor paper using watercolors and acrylic paints (not mixed together). Some of my hearts have stenciled patterns, some are stamped and others I drew and painted the designs. I use my Xyron adhesive tool to hold the heavier weight hearts to my card base.  It holds better than regular stick glue for these thicker pieces. I made extra hearts this year so that I will have a supply to use throughout the year.   Perhaps you will see them appear in a future post.  What is your favorite way to incorporate hearts in your designs?
