Tolkien Reading Day

It is almost Tolkien Reading Day!  Which ones are your favorite? Do you have a preferred way to use and display book quotes? I chose quotes from “The Hobbit” to add to a few of my projects.

The handmade dragonfly card that I painted will be a nice addition to gifting the book.  I used watercolor for the dragonflies and sumi ink for the large lettering.

I painted the bookmark background using a textured mat and acrylic paint.  I like the way the texture of the mat reminds me of water swirls.

The dragon quote is on a page in my art journal.  I am thinking of also using the same quote displayed on a wall hanging.  It reminds me to consider all the possibilities in my plans, especially the more obvious ones that are sometimes overlooked and can make a huge difference in the eventual outcome.

Art, hobbies and life itself can be very much an adventure. If we allow them to be we might find ourselves as  Mr. Baggins found he “had an adventure, and found himself doing and saying things altogether unexpected” J.R.R. Tolkien

Enjoy your day, your hobbies and your adventure.
