Collaged handmade card

I finally found a use for a packet of frame type blank cards that I have had for a very long time.  Originally I thought the frame would be nice to use to display my small paintings.  I think I will still try that idea to see how it looks.

I found this pear patterned paper in my stash (that’s the best place to shop) and placed it in the frame section of the card blank.  I used a large rubber stamp to decorate the frame section of the card.  To get an aged, vintage type look I stamped various images on deli bags.

The deli bags are great for this type of project.  Their light weight makes them easy to glue onto the card without making it bulky. I added a few scraps from my “harvest” box as accents.   The floral trim is from a soap wrapper and the gold is a candy wrapper.  Yum!  Of course I had to eat if first in order to have the gold to enhance the card.  Don’t you love it when art projects include a snack?

My first intention was to use it as a card.  Now I might use it as a topper on my journal.  Either way, I am pleased with the end result and once again I recycled a deli bag and the items in my “harvest” box too.

Now it is time to go find another gold wrapped candy so I can add the wrapper to the next project.
