It is nice to see more houses decorated for Halloween this year. Not because I am a big fan of spooky decorations, but because it is fun to see folks returning to their celebration traditions. It is good to see families gathering again to have fun.
The house is decorated for fall and Halloween. I like to keep Halloween up till Thanksgiving. We are especially enjoying the cooler weather, though as I am typing this we are having a little heat spike. Temporary, I’m sure. I have the Halloween cards ready for the snail mail to family and friends. My stash of vintage Halloween papers made the project a fairly quick one.
For myself, I am glad to return to making treat bags and tags for my co-workers. I enjoy being back in group celebration mode. My current recycling project. Reusing the deli sandwich bags. I like that they are sturdy and do not tear easily. This time I am painting them and adding Halloween napkins onto them to make treat bags.
This year I am going to put gift tags on the treat bags for my co-workers. I want to give them something they can use for a little bit longer so I made them about book mark size. I used a border punch for the bottom edge and added a bit of washi tape. Now I just need to stuff the bags without eating the goodies.
The treat bags are stuffed and while I am photographing them I realize they resemble wine bottles! This gives me an idea for my next recycled deli bag project. I will share how it works out in a future post.
In the meantime, take a few moments this week to enjoy the gift of laughter, celebration and silliness. We all need a little frivolity in our day.
