This year I had an earlier start to my Thanksgiving preparations. However, I did not have the usual early start to my Christmas shopping. More about that in a future post. For now the focus is Thanksgiving celebration prep.
Now that the Halloween treat bags are completed and distributed, my current project is recycling silverware bags. I am using ink to stencil them with a leaf pattern. A rubber stamp adds the sentiment. These will be Thanksgiving treat bags for my co-workers. Once completed, the challenge was to find chocolate bars that fit inside the bags. I spent a good amount of time over two weekends trying to find the chocolate bars that I had seen before. I completely forgot that specialty stores tend to rotate their stock, thus the candy I am looking for is no longer available at the previous locations that I saw them.
After a bit more searching, I found suitable chocolate bars! And I also found these cute little signs in another store. The chocolate bars were a little bit wide so I improvised the packaging to fit both items. I made decorative name tags to add to the curling ribbon and the gifts are ready to be distributed.
While I was shopping for the chocolate bars I bought this coffee on a whim. Well, the discounted price and my $5 reward helped me make the decision. I love pumpkin pie but have never been a fan of pumpkin spice flavored items. I figured if I did not like it, at least it didn’t cost much. Surprise! It is my current favorite and goes great with this new creamer I am trying. And of course, my daily biscotti. The perfect way to start my day.
Also new this year, I had fun making these quick Thanksgiving cards. I do not usually make cards for Thanksgiving, but had these holiday cutouts in my paper craft stash and added a bit of scrap paper to complete the cards.
Overall, the Thanksgiving preparations went smoothly and I had time for a few ‘new’ additions to the usual planing routine. It has been a rewarding time.
Wishing you all a very restful Thanksgiving.
