I love celebrating birthdays! Actually, I love any celebration. A time for gathering with others and enjoying socializing, food and lots of laughs.
When the kids were home we had many celebrations; a good report card, a completed school project, birthdays, you get the idea. Nothing was too small to not celebrate. Whatever happy moment happened was worth honoring with a celebration. Sometimes it was celebrated with a special dessert at home, a game and popcorn night or with dinner out. Either way we had fun. We still do celebrate Victoria making the Dean’s list, a good report card, completed class projects, sound familiar? And of course, birthday celebrations. We celebrate with little gatherings. Not everyone is available on the same day due to work schedules so we just gather with whoever can join us at the time and it works out well.
I sign up with various businesses for birthday rewards. We end up eating at quite a few different places and there are also the little freebies. Everything from free desserts, coffee, movie popcorn, body lotions, makeup and food discounts. Thankfully most of these are available for a month so I do not have to rush through my goodies.
I like to make cards for friends and family to help them celebrate their special events such as birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. For the cards posted here I gathered my paper scraps and washi tape to make a few quick birthday cards. The images on the top were in a packet of freebie items in a book I received. I added rubber stamped sentiments.
Now they are ready for the snail mail trail to help someone else with their celebration.
I hope we all celebrate our lives, our moments of accomplishment no matter how small they may seem. There is a lot happening that is negative so it is especially important to celebrate the good we find during these times. Kick up your heels, join the celebration of simply being.
