Springtime crafts

It’s almost Easter and that brings with it ideas for springtime crafts.  The background paper used in these projects is from my post last Thanksgiving. There I used the muted version as the background and noted that the bolder floral prints are for a future project.   Though at the time I did not have the details in mind, they looked Spring-like to me.

The inked decorative paper is a card stock weight and works well as a card topper.

Preparing my papers. I cut the inked image in varying sizes to accommodate the number of cards I need to make. The sentiment is stamped first to allow it to dry before I attach it to the card. The solid color paper is slightly textured.

I found these old baggage tags in my paper stash. They really are yellowed so I did not need to ink the edges. Because the tags are large enough to double as book markers I omitted the sentiment to make them for year-round use.

The tags will be attached to our Easter baskets. There is also plenty of space to write a message on the reverse side.

Small (3×3) enclosure cards easily fit in an Easter basket or can be attached to gifts.

The colorful shapes are punched from the inked paper. Scrap music paper and the rubber stamped sentiment complete the card.

It is very nice to have enough of the inked paper from my fall project to make this coordinated set of items.  The supply helped me be ready way ahead of time.  Now I can focus on the basket fillers, egg hunt prizes and treats for my co-workers.

Though the samples here are focused on my family’s upcoming Easter gathering, the floral print is applicable to a variety of celebrations including birthdays, Mother’s Day, get well, congratulations, etc.  Additionally, the background rubber stamping technique can be used with various stamp images.  Butterfly, tree and leaf images work well for this style of background for your paper projects.

Experiment and have fun. What are your favorite springtime crafts?
